Established since 1963
TISTR R&D Group for Sustainable Development is responsible for conducting integrated R&D projects following the National policies on sustainable development. The group comprises 3 centres and 1 research station as following;
Conduct comprehensive research and development for value creation, focusing on the development of technologies and innovations that drive towards a low-carbon society and achieving net-zero emissions.
Provide R&D services, analysis, testing, training, and consultancy in science, technology, innovation and engineering, in order to meet the needs of target groups, strengthen the competitiveness of the industrial sector, and sustainably enhance the quality of life in communities.
Transfer and incubate technologies for commercialization, as well as establish new businesses supported by laboratory-scale and pilot-plant infrastructures.
Strengthen and expand knowledge and intellectual property by building innovation networks with government agencies, private sector, and universities both domestically and internationally

Expert Centre of Innovative Clean Energy and Environment
InnoEn conducts research and development (R&D) on clean energy technologies and innovations from biomass and waste, including agricultural, community and industrial wastes. The center also conducts R&D on environmental management, projects on energy-related resources, climate change and biodiversity. In addition, InnoEn provides testing and analysis services on energy efficiency, wastewater management etc. In order to help reducing barriers on net-zero emission of exporters, InnoEn also provides consultancy services on LCA, CFO, and CFP.
Moreover, InnoEn has operated Sakaerat Environmental Research Station (SERS), located in Nakhon Ratchasima on varieties of animals and plants province of Thailand, which conducts environmental and forest ecology researches and serves as a facility for research and educational purposes for both Thai and foreign research SERS also functions as a learning center for environmental conservation through scientific and environmental camps for students, a knowledge transfer hub on environment, ecology, biodiversity and natural resource conservation, an ecotourism learning center, and a service center for training programs and national/international conference venues.
InnoMat conducts research and development on material innovations e.g. materials for health and medicine including health rehabilitation materials, ultrasonic physical therapy equipment and bond fillers, as well as materials for energy and environmental applications, such as filter materials, membranes, catalytic substances, water-absorbing materials, water treatment materials and value-added materials for construction or ornamental purposes. Technology transferring is also carried out to both communities and entrepreneurs for commercially utilization of the products in order to gain high in come and reduce cost
InnoMat also provides analysis and testing services for the properties of ceramics, minerals, polymers, rubber and composite materials. Analyzing and testing Services conducted are included physical properties e.g. micro-structure of material texture, material porosity, material density, surface area, distribution of particle size and coefficient of material expansion, chemical properties e.g. chemical composition and pH resistance and mechanical properties e.g. mechanical strength and toughness, etc.
Expert Centre of Innovative Industrial Robotics and Automation
In addition to conducting research and development engineering and in engineering and automation, InnoRobot provides a complete range of technology services in automation, including consultancy, design and manufacturing of machinery and automatic control systems tailored to the needs of government agencies and private-sectors, as well as, offering training programs and technology transfer in automation production and related engineering fields to support entrepreneurs.
Sakaerat Environmental Research Station (SERS) occupies an important location within Thailand 's diverse natural landscape. It has become a focal point for scientific research, conservation training and teaching, and local-community involvement. In recent years, SERS has also developed into a highly sought-after eco-tourism site.
Since its inception as a research station, SERS has hosted a large number of research projects on a wide array of topics. While the majority of projects are conducted by Thai people, a number of foreign researchers have used the station for their work. In addition, universities from around Thailand including Khorat, Bangkok , Khon Kaen and Songkla bring students to the station on field-trips for training in biological and ecology studies.
