TISTR Welcomes ACCCIM Delegation for Technical Visit on Food Innovation, R&D Collaboration, and Industrial Support.

28 May 2026 – The Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Agriculture and Aquaculture Committee of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) during their Agriculture and Aquaculture Mission to Bangkok, Thailand.

The visit, held at TISTR Technopolis in Pathum Thani, provided an opportunity for both organizations to exchange knowledge and explore potential areas of cooperation in research, technology, innovation, and sustainable food, processing, and production development.

The program began with an introduction to TISTR’s mission, strategic roles, and key achievements in advancing science, technology, and innovation for national development. TISTR representatives presented the institute’s contributions to R&D on food and processing technology for industrial competitiveness, technology transfer, innovation ecosystem development, and support services for entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders.

As part of the technical visit, the delegation toured at TISTR’s leading facility: the Food Innovation Service Plant (FISP). The delegates gained insights into TISTR’s research and development activities in food science and technology, functional and health-promoting food products, food processing innovations, product development services, and pilot-scale manufacturing capabilities.

The visit also showcased TISTR’s comprehensive support mechanisms for the food industry, ranging from laboratory research and product formulation to process optimization, scale-up services, quality assurance, and commercialization support. These facilities play an important role in helping businesses, particularly SMEs and emerging food entrepreneurs, transform innovative ideas into market-ready products.

Throughout the discussions and facility tours, both sides exchanged perspectives on current trends and challenges in agriculture, food innovation, and sustainable production systems. The delegation expressed strong interest in Thailand’s research and innovation ecosystem, particularly TISTR’s integrated approach to bridging scientific research with industrial applications.

The visit concluded with a productive dialogue on future collaboration opportunities between TISTR and ACCCIM members. Potential areas of cooperation include food innovation, sustainable agriculture, value-added agro-processing, technology exchange, capacity building, and partnerships supporting the bioeconomy and regional food security.

TISTR highly values this opportunity to strengthen international networks and foster partnerships that contribute to innovation-driven growth and sustainable development across the ASEAN region. The institute looks forward to future collaborations with ACCCIM and Malaysian stakeholders in advancing science, technology, and innovation for the benefit of both countries.
