TISTR Representatives joined the “Stakeholder Meeting between APCTT and Technology Agencies of Thailand for Promoting Regional Cooperation”

On 21 February 2024, Dr. Pratip Vongbandit, Deputy Governor of R&D Group for Sustainable Development together with Dr. Rewadee Anuwattana, Research Expert, R&D Group for Sustainable Development, Dr. Boonnanida Sodha, Director of the International Relations Division, and relevant researchers attended the Stakeholder Meeting between the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) and Technology Agencies of Thailand for Promoting Regional Cooperation at the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) Si Ayutthaya.

On this occasion, Dr. Junpen Meka-apiruk, Inspector General of MHESI and Dr. Preeti Soni, Head of the APCTT presided over and delivered the welcome remarks. The objectives of this meeting were to 1) introduce the roles and works of APCTT, 2) explore priority areas of technology agencies of Thailand for regional cooperation, and 3) discuss the possibility of collaboration among Thai agencies (TISTR, NSTDA, GISTDA, NIA, KMUTT, and KMITL) with APCTT.

In this regard, Dr. Rewadee presented the Tan Diao Model, a successful project for sustainable management of municipal waste and plastic waste, which was in line with the Circular Economy Concept. The project focused on adding value to waste through the utilization of appropriate, environmentally-friendly technologies and innovation, transforming waste to energy (Waste to Energy), which resulted in income generation for the community (Waste to Wealth). The project proposal has been submitted and is currently under the consideration of APCTT and MHESI.
