Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit, Governor of Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), along with Mrs. Sirinan Thubthimthet, a Director of Expert Centre of Innovative Health Food (InnoFood) and Ms. Ubon Rerk-Am, a Senior Researcher of Expert Center of Innovative Herbal Products (InnoHerb) won 3 awards from exhibiting research, inventions and innovations from Thailand at “The International Trade Fair-Ideas, Inventions and New Products (iENA 2023)” event held in Nuremburg, the Federal Republic of Germany during 28 – 30 October 2023.
The iENA 2023 in Nuremberg, known as the International Trade Fair for Ideas, Inventions, and New Products is held annually with a primary objective to provide inventors with an international platform for networking, connecting with potential investors and licensors, and showcasing their ideas and innovations through personal interactions. This year, the iENA event featured inventions, research and innovations from various sectors, including government, private sector, universities, research institutions, and independent inventors from Germany and over 30 other countries and regions, with more than 500 inventions and the participation of 200 exhibitors.
At the event, TISTR researchers led by Ms. Ubon Rerk-Am and Thai entrepreneurs from ODEE STYLE COMPANY, KURURO INFINITE COMPANY and CLARA INNOVATIVE COMPANY presented their innovations and products, consisted of
- Ruxium Plus Dietary Supplement from Jellyfish Gelatin Hydrolysate for Pain Relief Arthritis
- Clara BHA ESSENCE Melasma Reduction from Nymphaea Lotus Linn Flower
From the 2 products mentioned above, TISTR has won 3 awards at the event, including
- The Bronze Medal for Innovation from iENA 2023
2. The Special Award from the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers in Poland for their work on “Ruxium Plus Dietary Supplement from Jellyfish Gelatin Hydrolysate for Pain Relief Arthritis“
3. The Special Award from the Taiwan Prominent Inventor League in Taiwan for their work on “Clara BHA ESSENCE Melasma Reduction from Nymphaea Lotus Linn Flower“
The award-winning work was selected by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) through the approval of Dr. Wiparat De-ong, the Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand. It was entered into the competition and exhibition as a research and development project with the collaborative technology transfer effort between TISTR researchers of the Expert Centre of Innovative Herbal Products (InnoHerb) of TISTR and Thai entrepreneurs from ODEE STYLE COMPANY, KURURO INFINITE COMPANY and CLARA INNOVATIVE COMPANY. This contributes to creating added value by utilizing resources within the country for the benefit of promoting Thai resources for dietary supplement industry. Also, it aims to enhance diversity and value through science, technology, and innovation.
In winning recognition as outstanding projects on this international stage, it serves as a means to establish a reputation for research and development achievements, demonstrating the ability to create beneficial technologies. It also promotes good opportunities for entrepreneurs who receive technology transfers from TISTR, thereby publicizing the research results in the global market.
On this special occasion, it was an honored to have Dr. Wiparat De-ong, the Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand to deliver the opening remarks on the first day of the event. Also, it was a source of great delight for Thai researchers and entrepreneurs as Ms. Prapenpim Prachonpachanuk, the Consul-General of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Munich, attended the event to show her support and encouragement to them.
