On 6 November 2023, Dr. Sorada Wanlapa, Deputy Governor of R&D Group for Bio-industries, together with Mrs. Sirinan Thubthimthed, Director of the Expert Centre of Innovative Health Food, Dr. Rochana Tangkoonboribun, Director of the Expert Centre of Innovative Agriculture, Dr. Rewadee Anuwattana, Research Expert, R&D Group for Sustainable Development, Dr. Pongsathon Phapugrangkul, Director of the Biodiversity Research Centre, Dr. Boonnanida Sodha, Director of the International Relations Division, Dr. Sophapan Sunyansanoa, Director of the Technology and Innovation Management Office, and relevant persons joined in welcoming Mr. Adrián GUTIÉRREZ, Research & Innovation Counsellor, Representative of CDTI | China & Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand), CDTI SOST-CHINA and Ms. Jirapan Christian Linares, Project Analyst, Program Management Unit for Competitiveness Enhancement (PMU-C), Global Partnership Division, Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO).
In the meeting, Dr. Sorada presided over and delivered the welcome remarks. Mrs. Sirinan, Dr. Rochana, and Dr. Rewadee made presentations on functional food, valorisation of agri-food waste and SOILGUARD project, and circular agricultural waste, respectively. Moreover, Mr. Adrian presented on Spain’s research and innovation, ecosystem, infrastructure, and capacities and an overview of Spain-Thailand cooperation on science, technology, and innovation. Both sides discussed the existing project funded by the European Commission and opportunities for Thailand to participate in the EU bilateral/multilateral frameworks. He invited TISTR representatives to attend the Spain-Thailand bilateral innovation and technology forum on 28 November 2023 at the Athenee Hotel, which is organized by CDTI-Ministry of Science and Innovation, Spain and the Embassy of Spain in Bangkok, Thailand in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and PMU-C, NXPO. The objective of this event is to promote collaborative research, innovation cooperation, new tech-based and business partnership opportunities between Thai and Spanish stakeholders across the R&D spectrum. The event will provide a dialogue and networking platform between Thailand and Spain promoting exchange on technological trends across the food value chain.
