On 25 April 2024, Dr.Pratip Vongbandit, Deputy Governor of Research and Development Group for Sustainable Development, Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), joined in welcoming honourable speakers and participants to the “Workshop on Sustainable Municipal Solid Waste Management within the Circular Economy Concept.” The event took place during 25-26 April 2024 at the Ballroom C of the Maruay Garden Hotel, Bangkok and online platform via ZOOM Meeting.
On this occasion, Dr. Junpen Meka-apiruk, Inspector General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), and Dr. Preeti Soni, Head of the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) have also graciously agreed to preside over the opening ceremony and welcome all representatives from various organizations, both domestic and international to join the event.
This workshop event was hosted by Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), an agency under the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). The objective of this two-day event was to foster knowledge exchange among experts and participants from public and private sectors of Thailand and APCTT member countries with the focus on showcasing Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) solutions, particularly the successful TISTR’s project of ‘Tan Diao Model,’ which supports APCTT’s policy to strengthen regional technology cooperation for addressing climate change and supporting sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.
During the event, Dr. Rewadee Anuwattana, a research expert from TISTR, along with Dr. Suwit Auchariyamet, Director of Expert Centre of Innovative Industrial Robotics and Automation (InnoRobot), TISTR’s International Relations Division team, researchers from the Expert Centre of Innovative Clean Energy and Environment (InnoEn) and Expert Centre of Innovative Industrial Robotics and Automation (InnoRobot), also have collaborated in organizing and participating in the event.
