The Visit and Meeting between TISTR and Embassy of The People’s Republic of China in The Kingdom of Thailand to Exchange Knowledge and Collaborate on the Use of STI for Poverty Alleviation and Railway Technology Development.

On 10 February 2023, Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit, Governor of TISTR, Dr. Sorada Wanlapa, Deputy Governor of R&D Group for Bio-industries, Dr. Apakorn Supunya, Deputy Governor Strategies and Innovation Management and TISTR executives warmly welcomed Mr. Wang Qiang, First Secretary and Ms. Wu Yan, Second Secretary on Science and Technology of Embassy of The People’s Republic of China in The Kingdom of Thailand to TISTR Headquarters to discuss the potential cooperation on using science, technology, and innovation to drive poverty alleviation projects as well as rail technology projects between the two countries.

On this occasion, TISTR Governor delivered a presentation on TISTR’s accomplishments in BCG and STI services with the goal of increasing the economic value of agricultural products, developing the rural economy through modern agriculture, and building biotechnology innovation capacity in agriculture, functional food, and pharmaceuticals which will help reducing poverty problem in Thailand.  Dr. Rochana Tangkoonboribun, Director of the Expert Centre of Innovative Agriculture (InnoAg), presented on TISTR’s initiative on poverty alleviation to enhance quality of life in rural areas, as well as the requirements of China’s poverty alleviation mechanism sharing. Furthermore, Dr. Anat Hasap, Director of Railway Transportation System Testing Centre, (RTTC) presented on TISTR and Chinese organization’s collaborative projects on rail system as well as goal and achievement and demand for cooperation with China including personal exchange and STI cooperation.

In this regard, TISTR executives and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand discussed knowledge and technology transfer, with the Embassy happy to support and enable Chinese experts and partners to run the joint corporations.
