On 2 February 2023, Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit, Governor of TISTR together with Dr. Pattra Maneesin, Deputy Governor of Industrial Services joined the discussion on the organization of the Philippines Packaging Awards, welcomed by Prof. Pierre Pienaar, President of the World Packaging Organization (WPO). Dr. Pattra was welcomed to share her expertise and information about the Worldstar Global Packaging Awards and Asia Star Packaging Awards with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Philippines.
In addition, Dr. Chutima and Dr. Pattra had an official visit and meeting with the Department of Science and Technology – Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) to discuss the potential cooperation. It was honourable to pay the courtesy call to DOST Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum JR. and Assistant Secretary for International Cooperation Dr. Leah J. Buendia. Moreover, TISTR executives met with Dr. Annabelle V. Briones, Director of DOST-ITDI, and delegates. The Director welcomed and led laboratory tours to the Advanced Materials Testing Laboratory, Biological Imaging Laboratory (Transmission Electron Microscopy/Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy), Modular Multi-Industry Innovation Center, and Simulation and Packaging Testing Laboratory. On this occasion, DOST Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum JR. and Undersecretary Blesila A. Lantayona invited Dr. Chutima and Dr. Pattra along with DTI and Informa Markets delegates to discuss packaging collaboration, organization of training programs for MSMEs and entrepreneur development in Thailand and the Philippines in order to further strengthen the good cooperation of the two countries.
