TISTR delegates led by Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit, Governor of TISTR, and the TISTR team visited Dalat, Vietnam, from the 16th to the 18th of December 2022, to meet and exchange knowledge with research organizations, universities, and private companies on the utilization of technology, research results, and innovations for the development of plant breeding, ornamental agricultural production innovations, including the creation of value-added agricultural products in ornamental plants, and other research.
On this occasion, TISTR team visited to Faculty of Biology, Dalat University to discuss with Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Van Tien, Dean of Faculty of Biology, Prof. Dr. Duong Tan Nhut, Senior Researcher and Head of Molecular Biology and Plant Breeding Department, Tay Nguyen Institute for Scientific Research, Vietnam Academy of Science and Scientific Research (VAST) and DLU’professors as well as visited to tissue culture production laboratory and Dalat Flower Festival 2022.
TISTR has conducted the area-based project namely “Malai Wittaya Sathan” or Flower Academy Model. The project is aimed to provide capacity building of the farmers and entrepreneurs throughout the country on flower and ornamental plants farming and commercialization, including to establish the international network of this field to take lesson learned and good practices of agriculture for further development.
