On 29 May 2026, Ms. Rachaneepen Pensit, Director of the Thai Packaging Centre (TPC), together with Dr. Ratchaneewan Kulchan, Director of the Packaging Development Laboratory; Mr. Wichit Rattanathawornkiti, Director of the Packaging Testing Laboratory; Ms. Jeerawan Sutthilux, Research Officer; Dr. Sathukarn Kabcum, Research Officer; Ms. Kedpraveen Huntrakul, Technical Officer; the TPC research team; and Ms. Rattana Ngamvisitsil, International Relations Officer, had the honour of welcoming H.E. Mrs. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), along with a distinguished delegation from the Embassy of Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Export Development Board, and leading food and beverage companies from Sri Lanka.

On this occasion, Ms. Rachaneepen delivered the welcome speech and an overview presentation of the Centre’s roles, expertise, and missions. Then, Dr. Ratchaneewan shared insights into emerging food packaging technologies and clean labeling trends for export-oriented Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). In addition, Ms. Kedpraveen provided a brief overview of the Packaging Development Laboratory and the Packaging Testing Laboratory. The delegation also toured the aforementioned laboratories, led by Mr. Wichit and the TPC research team



This visit marked a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in packaging technologies for food and beverage products, while further strengthening cooperation in science, technology, and innovation between Thailand and Sri Lanka.
