On 22 November 2024, TISTR welcomed Dr. Ratih Damayanti, Director of Scientific Collection Management, from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) of Indonesia. The visit aimed to facilitate discussions and explore culture collection facilities at TISTR Technopolis, Pathum Thani.
During this occasion, researchers from the Biodiversity Research Centre (BRC), led by Dr. Chatrudee Suwannachart (Senior Research Officer), Dr. Susakul Palakawong Na Ayudthaya (Senior Research Officer), and Dr. Pornpoj Srisukchayakul (Research Officer), warmly welcomed the delegation and presented TISTR’s research achievements in managing culture collections and utilizing them for sustainable development.
In addition, Dr. Ratih Damayanti shared her expertise and insights on best practices and successes in culture collection management at BRIN, highlighting its contributions to research and innovation. She also discussed potential opportunities for collaborative research between BRIN and TISTR.
The visit continued with TISTR researchers guiding the representatives through key facilities, including the Microbiology Laboratory on the 2nd Floor of the RD1 Building and the Algal Excellent Center (ALEC). These facilities showcase TISTR’s pivotal role in advancing research and innovation while supporting private sector and industrial growth on a global scale.
Both TISTR and BRIN recognized the mutual potential and expertise in global culture collection management. This visit marked an excellent opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen collaboration in biodiversity research and scientific innovation for sustainable development.
