Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) has joined membership of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO) since 1985 to present. Over decades that TISTR has participated in WAITRO programmes or any capacity development events actively. TISTR has been a member in good standing and continuously. Being in the WAITRO global family could make TISTR to the outstanding, such as, joining the team of SOILGUARD with various members in Europe, Africa, and Latin America, the project was granted the financial support from Horizon 2020 platform, including the winners of WAITRO Innovation Award in 2020, and 2021 respectively.
During these years, TISTR acts as the WAITRO Regional Focal Point (RFP) for Asia and the Pacific. Our missions are to be the liaison office, and be in the core of communication and coordination between WAITRO Secretariat offices and over 30 regional members.
World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations is an independent, non-governmental and not-for-profit association founded in 1970 under the auspices of the United Nations. WAITRO brings together science, technology and innovation stakeholders, including research and technology organizations and research universities, on an international scale and provides a mechanism for its members and partners to connect, partner, share, inspire, and multiply their contributions to solve global challenges and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
