TISTR Presenting Thai-Chinese Collaborative Projects at the 4th Meeting of Joint Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation between Thailand and China

On September 21, 2023, TISTR participated in presenting the results of the joint working group meeting, focusing on the collaborative projects between Thailand and China at the 4th Meeting of Joint Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation between Thailand and China: JCM)

The meeting was presided by H.E. Mr. Zhang Guangjun, Vice Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People’s Republic of China and Prof. Dr. Sirirurg Songsivilai, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to inaugurate the meeting and provide insights and recommendations regarding the outcomes of the cooperation discussions within all six areas of collaboration, including People to People Exchange & Talented Young Scientists Visiting Program, Technology Transfer, Rail System, Poverty Eradication, Nuclear Fusion, and Space Science & Astronomy.

On this occasion, Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit, Governor of TISTR, was the one to report the results of the Rail System group that the three implementing agencies; CRRC Qingdao Sifang from People’s Republic of China, TISTR and NSTDA from Thailand, all agreed on jointly developing the railway transportation system more closely and in line with the Belt and Road Initiative strategy by jointly creating the cooperative platform of China-Thailand Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Rail Transit or Joint Laboratory to carry out the deepen technical cooperation.

TISTR has also participated in the Poverty Eradication group with the representatives of the China Rural Technology Development Center (CRTDC), People’s Republic of China reporting on the cooperative projects between the two countries in driving poverty reduction through science and technology between the Chinese and Thai governments. They have also agreed to carry out joint research and survey on agricultural industry development, together with establishing a cooperative platform and network in universities, research institutions, businesses and social organizations to implement public and social services of agricultural technology.

At the event, the TISTR executive team consisted of Dr. Pattra Maneesin, Deputy Governor of Industrial Services, along with Dr. Anat Hasap, Director of the Railway Transportation System Testing Centre (RTTC), and Dr. Rochana Tangkoonboribun, Director of Expert Centre of Innovative Agriculture (InnoAg) also participated, exchanged and shared their insights among the working group members at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel, Bangkok.
