On Friday, 9 January 2026, the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) welcomed a delegation from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan, together with representatives from leading Japanese companies, namely Shimadzu Corporation, Kao Corporation, and Nippon Steel, as well as the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), Thailand, at TISTR Technopolis.
The visit included academic presentations, meetings between relevant researchers from AIST, and companies, and a sensory testing workshop for functional food, providing opportunities for in-depth technical exchange and collaboration.
The program featured presentations highlighting recent advances in life science and biotechnology, including the latest research from AIST and VISTEC, innovations in microbial analysis, as well as technologies for mosquito prevention and environmental applications presented by participating organizations. In addition, the organizations shared their research capabilities and ongoing activities.
This visit reflects the long-standing and strong academic partnership between TISTR and AIST, and served as an important platform for strengthening research and innovation collaboration between Thailand and Japan toward future joint initiatives.
