Lehigh University Delegation Visited TISTR to Explore Collaborative Opportunities

On January 13, 2025, Dr. Suwit Auchariyamet, Director of the Expert Centre of Innovative Industrial Robotics and Automation (InnoRobot), presided over a welcoming ceremony for Dr. Cheryl Matherly (Vice President/Vice Provost of International Affairs) and Dr. Stephen P. DeWeerth (Dean of Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Sciences), the two representatives of Lehigh University from Pennsylvania, United States. The meeting was attended by Dr. Duangporn Unpanich (Director of the Material Properties Analysis and Development Centre – MPAD), Dr. Pornsak Thasanaraphan (Director of the Performance and Safety Inspection Laboratory – MPAD), and Dr. Boonnanida Sodha (Director of International Relations Division) at RD1 Building, TISTR Technopolis, Khlong Ha.

During the meeting, Dr. Suwit Auchariyamet and Dr. Pornsak Thasanaraphan presented the achievements and capabilities of InnoRobot and MPAD, respectively. These presentations served as a foundation for discussions with Lehigh University on potential collaborations, including the development of a Dual Program curriculum and joint research projects in the future.

Additionally, the delegation toured the laboratories at the MPAD building to explore TISTR’s capabilities in industrial services and research and development.

This event marked an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange and mutual exploration of capabilities between TISTR and Lehigh University. This could pave the way for potential collaborations in areas such as advancing research, developing industry-aligned academic programs, and creating opportunities for students to enhance their skills and pursue careers in science and technology.
