On December 3, 2024, the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) and SIRIM Berhad of Malaysia co-hosted the Convention on International Halal Healthcare & Beauty: Integrating Halal Standards – Elevating International Healthcare & Beauty Solutions at the Maruay Garden Hotel, Bangkok.

The event commenced with opening remarks by Dato’ Indera Ir. Dr. Ahmad Sabirin Arshad, FASc, President and Group CEO of SIRIM Berhad, followed by a welcoming speech from Dr. Sorada Wanlapa, Deputy Governor of Research and Development for Bio-industries, TISTR, representing Assistant Prof. Dr. Weerachai Arjharn, Governor of TISTR.




The convention was honored by the presence of Ms. Pechdau Tohmeena, M.D., Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), Thailand, who delivered a keynote address. She emphasized the integration of Halal standards into international healthcare and beauty markets, showcasing Thailand’s potential in these sectors and highlighting the importance of advancing Halal certification for global competitiveness.
