TISTR Welcomed Delegation from Chinese Embassy in Thailand

On 28 May 2024, Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit, Governor of TISTR, and Dr. Jittra Chaivimol, Deputy Governor of Industrial Services joined in welcoming the honorable delegation from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, namely Mr. Ma Minggeng, Counsellor for Science and Technology and Mr. Wang Qiang, First Secretary, on the occasion of their visit at Railway Transportation System Testing Center (RTTC), TISTR headquarter, Technopolis, Pathum Thani province.

During the meeting, TISTR representatives presented the collaborative projects between TISTR and Chinese agencies. These projects include the progression of the collaborative projects of rail system cooperation to establish the China-Thailand Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Rail Transit or Joint Laboratory, in collaboration between the Railway Transportation System Testing Center (RTTC) of TISTR led by Dr. Anat Hasap, Director of RTTC, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and CRRC Qingdao Sifang, People’s Republic of China. While, Dr. Rochana Tangkoonboribun, Director of Expert Centre of Innovative Agriculture (InnoAg), presented on the collaboration between China and Thailand on Poverty Eradication utilizing Agricultural Science and Technology which has been driven by the Expert Centre of Innovative Agriculture (InnoAg) of TISTR, in collaboration with the Research Fund Management and Management Unit (PMU), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Kalasin University, local agencies and the private sector.

The meeting has discussed three main topics, including

1) Past cooperation operations

2) Planned projects/activities expected to be implemented

3) Issues that TISTR seeks the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to support in order to achieve TISTR’s vision and mission.

Following that, Dr. Rochana Tangkoonboribun and Dr. Anat Hasap represented TISTR to lead the visit to the fungus laboratory and high-speed rail technology laboratory. They presented high-speed rail technology and rail system development, along with agricultural research and development focused on functional agriculture.
