TISTR Welcomes Indonesian Delegation to Strengthen Collaboration in Marine Amber Extraction Innovation

On 30 March 2026, Dr. Pariyada Visutthipat, Deputy Governor for Administration of the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), together with TISTR executives, researchers, and staff, warmly welcomed Raja Gontar IV – Dr. Drs. H. Syafri Fadillah Marpaung, SE, MPd. and a delegation from Indonesia on the occasion of their visit to TISTR for academic discussions and collaboration.

In her welcome remarks, Dr. Pariyada highlighted the long-standing and strong relationship between Thailand and Indonesia. The visit focused on knowledge exchange in research and development of marine amber extraction, as well as the creation of value-added products which are an area with significant potential for future business and innovation collaboration.

TISTR, through its Expert Centre of Innovative Herbal Products (InnoHerb), has strong expertise in this field, offering systematic R&D services covering extraction processes of active compounds, quality analysis, and the development of premium-grade fragrance products to enhance commercial value and export potential.

A key highlight of the visit was the conferment of the honorary title “Dato” by Raja Gontar IV to distinguished TISTR personnel in recognition of their outstanding contributions. The recipients were:

  • Dr. Krittiya Thisayakorn, Director of the Expert Centre of Innovative Herbal Products (InnoHerb)
  • Dr. Khanitha Chawananorasest, Researcher, Expert Centre of Innovative Herbal Products (InnoHerb)

The delegation also toured TISTR’s research infrastructure, including the Herbal Extraction Pilot Plant and the Innovative Cosmeceutical Services Center (ICOS), to explore Thailand’s capabilities in industrial-scale research and development. The visit left a strong impression and laid a solid foundation for enhanced international collaboration.

This visit marks an important step in strengthening ties between Thailand and Indonesia, particularly in science, technology, industry, and innovation. It also reflects TISTR’s role as a leading research and development organization committed to advancing international partnerships in support of sustainable innovation-driven economic growth.
