About Us
ASEAN Network of Excellence Centre of Biomass Conversion Technology (ANEC) by Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) has been funded by ASEAN Science, Technology and Innovation Fund (ASTIF) under Sub-Committee on S&T Infrastructure and Resources Development (SCIRD).
TISTR is one of the national leader organization in R&D on science, technology and innovation. Expert Centre of Innovative Clean Energy and Environment (InnoEn) is a centre under TISTR Sustainable Development Group. InnoEn has conducted R&D on 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation biomass to energy (including microalgae) has been conducted in order to serve the increasing of energy demand and to maintain the national energy security. The readiness of TISTR's biomass to energy conversion technologies are production of biodiesel, bioethanol, biomethanol and biogas, including gasification and pyrolysis technologies. Moreover municipal waste management by using as alternative energy resource has been conducted as well.
In previous regional network, ANBOR, TISTR was a co-organized in several workshops and regional consultations with Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), that aim to facilitate knowledge sharing, to enhance capability, and to exchange best practices and experiences in renewable energy and sustainable development goals.
