Hand-over Ceremony of Electric Vehicles and Quick/Normal EV Chargers under Japans Non-Project Grant Aid for Provision of Next-Generation Vehicles FY 2014 for the Kingdom of Thailand (Electric Vehicles and Quick/Normal EV Chargers)   [2020-05-26]

On 25 May 2020, Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), hosted Hand-over Ceremony of Electric Vehicles and Quick/Normal EV Chargers under "Japans Non-Project Grant Aid for Provision of Next-Generation Vehicles FY 2014 for the Kingdom of Thailand (Electric Vehicles and Quick/Normal EV Chargers)".

On behalf of the Government of Japan, Mr. Hiroshi Kawamura, Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister of the Embassy of Japan in Thailand handed over 7 Electric Vehicles and 5 Normal/Quick Chargers to Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit, Governor of TISTR as the representative of the implementing agency. On this occasion, TISTR was honored in welcoming Mr. Wattanawit Gajaseni, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) as the representative of the Government of Thailand to be witness of the handover. The handover ceremony was attended by Dr. Pasu Loharjun, Board Chairman, TISTR executives and employees, representatives from Embassy of Japan in Thailand, and officials from Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).

During the handover ceremony, the Governor of TISTR, Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit expressed sincere gratitude to the Government of Japan in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation System (JICS), Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) of Ministry of Foreign Affairs for providing these vehicles to TISTR. She expressed that TISTR has set up a working team consisting of our experts in various fields. They will study the characteristics of usage in terms of pros-and-cons and limitations in different conditions. Data collection of EVs and charging stations will be conducted in diverse environment of TISTR campuses which are city driving, in-between provincial driving, industrial estate area driving, and mountain driving. Moreover, the value added can be further extended to the sustainable development of EV manufacturers in Thailand in the future.
