TISTR under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), showcased its R&D project \u201cHub of Talents: Flower and Ornamental Plant Production Technology\u201d at Horti & Agri Asia 2026, organized from 10\u201312 March 2026 at BITEC Bangna, Bangkok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supported by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the project was presented by Dr. Anan Piriyaphattarakit, Senior Research Officer of the Expert Centre of Innovative Agriculture (InnoAg) and project leader, together with the TISTR research team. The exhibition highlighted innovative research and technologies designed to strengthen Thailand\u2019s ornamental plant industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening ceremony on 10 March 2026 featured welcoming remarks from Mr. Jeroen van Hoff, CEO and President of Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs, and Mr. Sebas van den Ende, General Manager of VICTAM International. Mr. Salanroj Sutaschuto, Senior Vice President of the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) (TCEB) addressed the objectives of the event, while Dr. Udom Chuachan, Deputy Director General of the Department of Livestock Development, presided over the official opening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special seminar \u201cThe Future of Thailand\u2019s Flower and Ornamental Plant Industry: Opportunities and Challenges from Farm to Market\u201d was also held. The session brought together distinguished speakers, including Ms. Supaporn Chokchalermwong, Director of the Research and Innovation Fund Management Division 1, National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Mr. Wiwat Laohapantakij, President of the Eastern Ornamental Plant Association, and Mr. Udom Titwattanasakul, owner of Udom Garden, with Mr. Sarawut Chantachitpreecha, Strategic Advisor for Agriculture and Innovation, King Mongkut\u2019s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), serving as moderator. The discussion shared valuable insights on advancing Thailand\u2019s ornamental plant industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horti & Agri Asia 2026 serves as a major international platform for knowledge exchange and business networking, featuring cutting-edge agricultural technologies such as smart greenhouse systems, modern plant production technologies, and innovations from leading producers across Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hub of Talents: Flower and Ornamental Plant Production Technology project focuses on key areas including production, export development, post-harvest management, technological innovation, local research, and strategic marketing. The initiative aims to enhance production efficiency, expand high-value ornamental plant markets both domestically and internationally, and strengthen sustainable industry growth through innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
