Dr. Sorada Wanlapa, Deputy Governor for Industrial Services of Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), presided over the opening ceremony of the “Technical Seminar on Aluminum Alloys in Thailand 2025<\/strong>.” The event was organized by TISTR, in collaboration with the Japan Institute of Light Metals (JILM), held during 10\u201312 September 2025 at Novotel Bangkok Future Park Rangsit, Pathum Thani, Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar aimed to disseminate knowledge on various production processes and quality inspection of aluminum alloy components, with contributions from distinguished speakers from both Japan and Thailand who shared their expertise and experiences.<\/strong> Key topics included carbon footprint assessment for the aluminum industry, melting and conditioning of cast alloys, casting and die casting, continuous casting, rolling, foil rolling, additive manufacturing of aluminum alloys for transportation systems, extrusion and anodizing, forging, heat treatment, welding, and sheet forming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TISTR experts also contributed, with Dr. Worawat Songkitti and Dr. Kotchaporn Thadsoongnoen, TISTR\u2019s Technical Officer from Railway Transportation System Testing Center (RTTC), delivering a lecture on \u201cAdditive Manufacturing of Aluminum Alloys for Transportation Systems.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the program also included the visit to TISTR\u2019s facilities and local factories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the TISTR’s Railway Transportation System Testing Center (RTTC) and the Materials Property Analysis and Development Center (MPAD), the representatives from JILM joined in the meeting, exchanged experiences, and visited laboratories, with the warmly welcome by Mr.Phanasindh Paitekul, Director of Railway and Transportation Technology Testing and Development Laboratory (RTDL), and Dr. Duangporn Unpanich, Director of MPAD. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, representatives from participating companies also joined plant visits to factories, further broadening their insights into the modern production processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar received an excellent response from the private sector, with over 100 entrepreneurs in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next seminar is scheduled for 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
