TISTR Researcher Representing Thailand at UNESCO MAB Youth Forum 2026

Ms. Kanoktip Somsiri, Researcher from the Expert Centre of Innovative Clean Energy and Environment (InnoEn) at the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), was selected by UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Secretariat as the sole representative from Thailand to participate in the “3rd Global Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Youth Forum” under the theme “Committed to the Future We Want.”

The forum was held during 18–22 May 2026 at the Po Delta Biosphere Reserve and Euganean Hills Biosphere Reserve in Rosolina Mare, Italy.

The forum brought together more than 200 young leaders and experts from 109 countries worldwide to exchange knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on the sustainable development of Biosphere Reserves through collaboration in science, environmental conservation, culture, and youth engagement.

The forum also aimed to strengthen youth leadership and participation in MAB governance, promote youth-led initiatives for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development, and encourage international cooperation in shaping future actions at national, regional, and global levels.

Her participation reflects the strong potential of Thai professionals in contributing to environmental issues, while also fostering global networks with youth leaders and experts to help shape a sustainable future where humanity and nature coexist in harmony.
