RTTC of TISTR Receives ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 Certificate from Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI)
On 24 September 2020, Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) by Railway Transportation System Testing Centre (RTTC) has received the Certificate of Laboratory Accreditation for testing in accordance with the Thai Industrial Standard TIS 17025-2561 (2017) (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. The TIS 17025-2561 (2017) (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) was awarded to RTTC of TISTR by Mr.Wanchai Phanomchai, Secretary-General of Thai Industrial Standards Institute at ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Certificate Awarding Ceremony.
The certification is an Certificate of Laboratory Accreditation that covers Mechanical Properties testing of metal and metal product including steel welding, stainless steel, and rail system products. RTTC is the first agency in Thailand who received ISO/IEC 17025, 2017 version for railway system standard according to BSEN 13230, BSEN 13481 and BSEN 13146 standards. The said standards cover Concrete Sleeper products, Turnout Sleeper, and Rail Fastening System. With this, the RTTC has capacity to test all those components. As the center is under TISTR, RTTC expects to utilize science, technology and innovation to encourage Thai entrepreneurs to produce and export their local contents in the region. RTTC aims to support high efficiency logistics and competitive advantages of the entrepreneurs.
On this occasion, Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit, TISTR Governor together with Mr.Wirach Chantra, Deputy Governor of Industrial Services Group, Dr. Anat Hasap, Director of RTTC and RTTC staffs participated the ceremony.
