Regional Workshop on Technology Transfer Renewable Energy Technologies for Climate Change Mitigation

Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR)Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) jointly with Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) hosted Regional Workshop on Technology Transfer Renewable Energy Technologies for Climate Change Mitigation during 24 – 25 September 2020 at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.

On this occasion, Dr. Aparat Mahakhant, Deputy Governor of Research and Development Group for Sustainable Development, TISTR delivered the welcome address followed by Ms. Michiko Enomoto, Head of Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), addressed the opening remarks at the workshop.

The workshop aimed to enhance linkage among policy makers, technology promotion agencies, research and development institutions and industry to deliberate on policy strategies, institutional and financial mechanisms, and innovative business models for renewable energy technology transfer, as well as, heighten understanding on enabling policies and strategies to promote renewable energy technologies for climate change mitigation. As the host, we also expect that the workshop can promote regional cooperation for cross-border transfer, diffusion and deployment of renewable energy technologies.

The Regional Workshop on Technology Transfer Renewable Energy Technologies for Climate Change Mitigation gathered virtual speakers and participants from both international and Thai organizations to deliberate on their knowledge and experience related the workshop topic.
