The 2nd TISTR and JAIMA Conjoint Conference: Application of Herb for Dietary Supplement and Cosmetics
Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) in cooperation with Japan Analytical Instruments Manufacturers’ Association (JAIMA) organized the 2nd TISTR and JAIMA Conjoint Conference: Application of Herb for Dietary Supplement and Cosmetics during 7-8 November 2019 at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.
On this occasion, Mr. Wirach Chantra, Deputy Governor of Industrial Services Group, TISTR presided over the opening ceremony and delivered the opening remarks. We also had an honour from Mr. Susumu Hayashi, Vice Chairman of International Affairs Committee, JAIMA to provide a brief summary of Japan Analytical and Scientific Instruments Show (JASIS) which was held in Japan, September 2019.
The 2nd TISTR and JAIMA Conjoint Conference under the theme of the Application of Herb for Dietary Supplement and Cosmetics aimed to share and exchange knowledge about the country’s regulations, latest analytical instrument technology and its application. This event would be a platform to establish relationships and networking among Japanese and Thai participants from several institutes and companies.
In addition, we invited members of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organization (WAITRO) from Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), Indonesia and Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM Berhad), Malaysia to participate as the invited speakers, presenting their country’s status, trend, technology and application related to herbal products and cosmetics under the financial support including air tickets, accommodation, logistics and meal by TISTR and JAIMA.
Apart from the conference, participants also enjoyed visiting the product booths from JAIMA member companies such as Kyoto Electronics Manufacturing (KEM), JASCO International, JEOL, Agilent Technology and HORIBA. We also arranged a laboratory visit to the Algal Excellent Center (ALEC), TISTR where participants could learn more about the culture collection and utilization of freshwater microalgae in agricultural, food, pharmaceutical, sustainable energy and environmental benefits.
