Symposium on Food Safety Testing (Fruit Juice Adulteration) in ASEAN
Industrial Metrology and Testing Service Centre (MTC), Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) organized the Symposium on Food Safety Testing (Fruit Juice Adulteration) in ASEAN during 23-24 July 2019 at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam, Bangkok, Thailand.
On this occasion, Mr. Permsuk Sutchaphiwat, Chief Inspector General of MHESI presided over the opening ceremony and Mr. Wirach Chantra, Deputy Governor of Industrial Services, TISTR delivered report speech in the opening session.
The symposium aimed to build network of fruit juice authenticity and adulteration testing laboratories among ASEAN member countries, to increase the capacity of fruit juice authenticity and adulteration testing laboratories and to develop knowledge and skills in the analysis of fruit juice authenticity and adulteration.
The event gathered over 70 people including invited experts, speakers and participants from public and private sectors both from Thailand and ASEAN member countries; such as, National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards (ACFS); Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (Public Organization) (TINT); the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ); Nafoods Group, Vietnam; Food and Drug Administration, The Philippines; Department of Research and Innovation (DRI), Ministry of Education, Myanmar; Agency of the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), Republic of Indonesia; and Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) PTE Ltd.
