International Workshop on Intellectual Property Management and Technology Licensing
TISTR and Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) jointly organized International Workshop on Intellectual Property Management and Technology Licensing during 18-20 June 2019 at Rama Gardens Hotel Bangkok, Thailand. This event aimed to emphasize on intellectual property management and knowledge sharing from international aspects.
The conference was honored to have Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit Governor of TISTR and Ms. Michiko Enomoto, Head of APCTT delivering welcome address and opening remarks, respectively. After that, Dr. Aparat Mahakhant Deputy Governor of TISTR expressed on background of the programme.
The event activities consisted of 5 sessions and separated into 3 days. On 18 June 2019 included with Session I: Enabling policy frameworks and Tools for Intellectual Property Management for inclusive and sustainable development – Global and national perspectives, Session II: Intellectual Property Planning and Portfolio Management and Session III: Business-focused Intellectual Property Management, Session IV: Technology Licensing and Transfer in Universities and R&D institutes – Tools and Best Practices were continued discussing on 19 June 2019. The last session was round-table discussion on intellectual property management and technology licensing and escorted participants to Technology Licensing Office of National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Thailand for field visit.
In this occasion, experts from international countries were invited to be speakers and panelists in this event, i.e. India, Republic of Korea, Republic of Iran, Thailand, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam. TISTR and APCTT as organizers were confident that the workshop created awareness and enhance better understanding of the importance of IP Management and Technology Licensing to research and development (R&D) organizations in today’s dynamic business world.
