Meeting with MRPPA and RNRF
On 31 May 2019, the delegates from Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association (MRPPA) and Rubber Network Council and Rubber Farmers Institute of Thailand (RNRF) visited Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) to discuss on the value addition to natural rubber, so that the products can be sold at the reasonable price, farmers would have better standard of living and higher income and Thailand can maintain its position as the largest producer and exporter of natural rubber. In the meeting, Mr. Uthai Sornlaksap, the President of RNRF shared the current situation and critical concerns of rubber, latex and leftover latex in terms of price, plantation and environmental issues. After that, Dr. Parawee Pumwongpitak, Researcher from Expert Centre of Innovative Materials (InnoMat) presented the overview of InnoMat followed by the presentation on Value Addition on Natural Rubber based on Science, Technology and Innovation by TISTR presented by Dr. Jate Panichpakdee, Researcher from InnoMat, respectively. The delegates also visited the InnoMat laboratory to see rubber gloves coating machines and other interesting equipment.
