TISTR and SIRIM Berhad, Malaysia signed the Collaboration Arrangement concerning on S&T Cooperation

Mr.Yongvut Saovapruk, Governor of TISTR and the delegation visited SIRIM Berhad, Shah Alam, Malaysia during 13-15 May 2013. On that occasion, the signing ceremony of the Collaboration Arrangement was organized. The Arrangement was signed by Mr.Yongvut and Dr. Zainal Abidin Mohd Yusof, President and Chief Executive, SIRIM Berhad. The S&T Cooperation in the mutual interested areas between the 2 institutes is concerned and it shall remain the period of 2 years of cooperation onward.

The delegation was led by the researchers and staff of SIRIM Berhad to experience on SIRIM  Gallery, WAITRO Office. Besides, they visited the S&T units i.e. Wood Polymer Composite, Ceramics Centre, Industrial Biotech Research Centre, Environmental Technology Research Centre, and Granulab Sdn Bhd where is the success showcase company related the integration on SIRIM’s research achievement, GranuMas,
a synthetic bone graft material product which already been commercialized to business sector. Whilst the industrial services, TISTR delegation was led to visit the Joining & Inspection Services and National Metrology Laboratory 
respectively.

Both sides discussed and agreed to initiate the collaboration in the several fields i.e. medical equipment/devices and its laboratory in accordant to ISO 13485, biogas, bioethanol, GLP-OECD approval certification for toxico- and ecotoxicity laboratoryin Thailand, Non destructive testing especially TCR (TUV Creep Replica) and Failure Investigation, Measurement & Calibration, etc.
